Dubai Women Establishment Launches "Dubai Female Entrepreneurs" Session Series
Building on the success of its "From Dubai to the World" initiative launched at the Dubai Women Forum 2024, the Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) has kicked off the first session of its new "Dubai Female Entrepreneurs" series. The series aims to spotlight the crucial role of women in entrepreneurship and their significant impact on the UAE's national economy.
Building on "From Dubai to the World"
This new series continues DWE's efforts to showcase successful women-led businesses that have achieved regional and international recognition starting from Dubai. Naeema Ahli, Executive Director of DWE, emphasized that the series is part of the organization's strategic plan to enhance women's participation in economic and social development, specifically supporting them in entrepreneurship due to its positive impact on families and society. DWE remains committed to improving women's quality of life and empowering them across various fields.
Inaugural Session Highlights
The first session, held on April 17th at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, featured three prominent Dubai-based female business leaders who shared their inspiring journeys:
Rasha Al Dhankhani: Founder of the popular cafe brand Papparoti.
Latifa bin Haider: Founder of the company Baytukum.
Shatha Al Mulla: Founder and Creative CEO of the Shatha Al Mulla brand.
The speakers highlighted how the supportive environment and leadership in Dubai were fundamental to their success.
UAE's Thriving Female Entrepreneurship Scene
Naeema Ahli underscored the UAE's role as an incubator for entrepreneurship, sharing compelling statistics:
Women represent 18% of entrepreneurs in the UAE.
77.6% of women-owned companies are led by women under 40.
36% of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are owned by women.
80% of these women-owned SMEs were established within the last five years.
Over 25,000 Emirati women lead investments valued at AED 60 billion.
Inspiring the Next Generation
Beyond showcasing success stories, Ahli noted that a key objective of the session series is to transfer valuable experience to aspiring female entrepreneurs and encourage them to develop and grow their own ventures within the supportive ecosystem provided by Dubai and the UAE.
