Intella, an Egyptian-founded deeptech company now headquartered in Saudi Arabia, has secured 2nd place in Tawuniya’s InsurAI Challenge. The achievement highlights the success of intella's Arabic-first, AI-powered solutions and its growing influence in the Saudi tech ecosystem.
Intella Recognized at Tawuniya's InsurAI Challenge
The InsurAI Challenge, an initiative by Tawuniya, the largest insurance company in the Middle East and North Africa, and global innovation platform Plug and Play Middle East, recently concluded its Demo Day. The 12-week virtual program was designed to foster innovation and transformation in the insurance sector by collaborating with cutting-edge startups.
During the event, intella was recognized as one of the top performers, securing 2nd place for the innovative proof of concept it developed during the challenge. The startup's success underscores its technical capabilities and its alignment with the needs of major regional enterprises like Tawuniya.

In a social media post celebrating the win, Nour Taher, CEO and Co-founder of intella, emphasized the company's core philosophy. "This milestone isn't just a winm it's a reminder of why we do what we do," she stated, defining intella's approach as "Arabic-first. MENA-focused. AI-powered."
Taher added, “We’re here to prove that world-class innovation doesn’t need to come from the West, it can, and should, be built for our region, by our region.” This mission is central to intella's strategy as it deepens its presence in Saudi Arabia.

The InsurAI Challenge was launched by Tawuniya in collaboration with Plug and Play to accelerate digital transformation in the region's insurance industry. It also aims to strengthen Saudi Arabia's growing startup ecosystem, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
