Saudi's stc, Through Tali Ventures, Invests in Debt Platform Termez Capital
Tali Ventures, the venture capital arm of Saudi telecommunications giant stc, has made a strategic investment in Termez Capital, a Saudi platform for private debt deals that is now planning to expand into the private credit space. Tali Ventures has acquired a minority stake in the company.
By the Numbers
SAR 1 Billion: The target size for Termez Capital's upcoming private credit fund (approx. $267 million).
SAR 2.3 Billion: The value of financing arranged by Termez to date.
SAR 16 Billion: The two-year target for financing to be arranged by the platform.
A Strategic Move into Private Credit
This investment signals a strong belief in the growing private credit market in Saudi Arabia. Termez Capital, which currently facilitates private debt deals with a focus on Islamic bonds (Sukuk), is expecting to secure an asset management license later this year. This will allow the company to begin offering and managing credit financing directly to private companies, a significant expansion of its business model.
The Vision of Termez Capital
Led by CEO Nasser Al-Saadoun, Termez Capital has ambitious plans for growth. Following the launch of its private credit business, the company aims to raise up to SAR 1 billion for its first fund over the next two years. Furthermore, the company is also considering a potential Initial Public Offering (IPO) within the next three years.
stc's Broader Diversification Strategy
The investment from Tali Ventures is a key part of stc's broader strategy to diversify its operations beyond telecommunications and into high-growth sectors like financial services. This follows the launch of its venture capital arm, Tali Ventures, last year and the establishment of its digital bank, STC Bank, in early 2025.
About the Partners
Tali Ventures: The venture capital arm of stc Group, with total financing commitments of around $300 million. It focuses on investing in strategic sectors including artificial intelligence and financial technology.
Termez Capital: A Saudi financial platform founded in 2022 that facilitates private debt deals and manages Sukuk transactions between companies and investors.
Looking Ahead
The partnership between a major corporate VC like Tali Ventures and a specialized fintech platform like Termez Capital is set to expand the financing options available to companies in Saudi Arabia. By backing a new player in the private credit space, stc is helping to deepen the Kingdom's capital markets and support the growth of its private sector in line with Vision 2030.
