Syria Launches National Alliance to Unify Startup Incubators and Accelerators
The Syrian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has announced the launch of the Syrian Alliance of Incubators and Accelerators (SAIA), a landmark national platform bringing together startup incubators, accelerators, and co-working spaces from across Syria into a single, coordinated network for the first time.

A Coordinated Network for Entrepreneurship Recovery
The primary mission of SAIA is to establish critical infrastructure for the recovery and growth of Syria's entrepreneurship ecosystem. The alliance is designed to harmonize the work of various startup support organizations, facilitate the sharing of resources, and create a formal space for dialogue and policy reform. The stated goal is to transform what have been fragmented efforts into a powerful, collective national momentum.
A Call for Collaborative Ecosystem Building
In the announcement, the Ministry emphasized that government action alone cannot ensure the initiative's success. A direct call was made for a multi-stakeholder approach, requiring:
Committed support from international development partners.
Strategic engagement from the private sector and the Syrian diaspora.
Active contribution from founders, mentors, and investors.
A Foundation for Syria's Startup National Agenda
The launch of SAIA is described as a foundational "brick" in a more ambitious, long-term vision to design and implement Syria’s Startup National Agenda. This broader agenda aims to build the institutions, policies, and comprehensive support systems that entrepreneurs across the country need and deserve to thrive.
About SAIA
The Syrian Alliance of Incubators and Accelerators (SAIA) is a new, government-led national platform for coordinating and strengthening the country's entrepreneurship support organizations. By creating a unified network, it aims to enhance collaboration, improve resource allocation, and accelerate the development of the entire startup ecosystem.
Looking Ahead: Building a Resilient Syrian Economy
The establishment of SAIA is a strategic and vital step towards rebuilding Syria's private sector. By fostering a collaborative and structured environment, the alliance has the potential to significantly accelerate the growth of the Syrian startup scene, foster homegrown innovation, create sustainable jobs, and contribute to the nation's overall economic resilience.
