Syrian Computer Society Launches Youth Entrepreneurship Bootcamp at Homs University
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Incubator at the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics has today launched a Youth Entrepreneurship Bootcamp at Homs University. The two-week program is designed to guide young aspiring entrepreneurs on the journey of transforming technical ideas into viable startup companies.

The intensive two-week program kicked off with insightful dialogue seminars. The first day featured sessions titled "From Idea to Company" and "The Role of Community Institutions in Homs to Support Entrepreneurship."

Ahmed Sufian, Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Technology, addressed participants (online), emphasizing the critical role of entrepreneurship in Syria for finding solutions to current challenges, noting its agility compared to traditional governmental or corporate approaches. He affirmed the Ministry's commitment to supporting student entrepreneurs in turning their innovative ideas into real-world projects, stressing the importance of market testing and inter-company collaboration for better service delivery.
Engineer Hala Jahjah, Director of the Technology and Communications Incubator, explained that the camp aims to increase youth awareness about entrepreneurship in tech companies and projects. Other key contributors include Engineer Omar Hammam, owner of a digital marketing company in Istanbul, who aims to provide added value on transitioning from ideas to company formation, and Marwa Al-Sayed, a trainer specializing in entrepreneurship, who highlighted the bootcamp as a golden opportunity for youth to overcome difficulties in accessing necessary information for marketing or programming. Ghania Al-Abrash, a field volunteer with one of the sponsoring organizations in the media field, also noted her institution's focus on supporting youth, empowering graduates, and promoting women in various fields.
Program Goals and Final Exhibition
The ultimate aim of the bootcamp is to prepare the foundations for emerging companies and to create strong networks among young entrepreneurs. To culminate the program, an exhibition of the developed projects will be held. This showcase will present the startups to the local community, seeking support to help them further develop their projects and implement them successfully.
